45 South Street
In 1887 Edward Everett Doty purchased this lot for $474 and engaged Totten, Champ, & Co. to build this house the same year at a cost of $2000. Edward E. Doty, his wife Mary and their four sons lived here until Mrs. Doty’s death in 1920 when they sold it to Alice L. Batchellor. (This Doty family was no relation to the other large Doty clan who resided in Geneseo, for one of whom the present Doty Building is named.)
