38 North Street

This house probably was built about 1868 by Samuel Ready, a blacksmith. A few years later, he moved to Kansas and sold it to Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Mason. After Mr. Mason’s death in 1901, the house was sold to William McCaughey. It changed hands several times until it was purchased in 1925 by Mr. and Mrs. Ludern Green. That same year they made improvements including adding stucco and a new front porch. Mr. Green served for several years as Superintendent of the Poor. Several years after his death in 1928, his widow sold the house to Joseph Bellanca.
